MVO Nederland

MVO is the Centre of Excellence for Dutch companies that are striving towards corporate social responsibility. More than 2000 companies are affiliated with this networking organization. MVO’s ambition for 2020 is to turn the Dutch business community into a circular economy that can serve as a global model. MVO is partnering in Foodstars to achieve this in the food chain and are raising general awareness about this topic. MVO also collaborates closely with businesses by helping groups of companies determine what roles they can fulfil in this new economy.

Svensson, a Swedish family business that dates back to 1887, is the pioneer and world leader in textile products for climate control and energy efficiency in the horticultural industry and other sectors.

The climate screens of Svensson give plants better conditions to grow and are also used in other settings to give people better places to work, travel, meet, recover and study. The business started in the 1970s with a vision to transform and improve conditions for the professional cultivation of vegetables and flowers in greenhouses. Its functional climate screens control humidity, temperature, and UV radiation, creating excellent conditions for better and greater production in greenhouses all over the world.

The Netherlands’ Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, Food Quality

The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality wants to ensure good prospects for the Dutch farming, horticulture and fishing sectors, which are renowned worldwide for producing good-quality food that is safe and affordable.

The Ministry is working with all stakeholders to restore and maintain natural areas. It aims to consolidate the agriculture sector’s leading international position, strengthen the link between nature and agriculture, and improve farmers’ economic situation.

City of The Hague

The city represents a unique hub that connects startups with governments, international companies, research centers, studios, and thousands of creative entrepreneurs. ICCO Cooperation

ICCO Cooperation, a non-governmental organization, which mission is to build resilient local communities in developing countries by stimulating entrepreneurship and realizing food security and sustainable economic development.

With over 50 years of experience in development cooperation in Asia, Latin America and Africa, ICCO offers FoodStars an extensive physical infrastructure, know-how and linkages to public-private stakeholders.

Woord en Daad

Woord en Daad is a Netherlands-based development organization, which connects people around the world in their fight against poverty. The organization is active in more than 20 countries and work together with around 40 partners. Income in 2016 was almost 35 million euro.

World Startup Factory

World Startup Factory is dedicated to help founders build successful ventures with positive impact by exploring, learning and investing together.

World Startup Factory offers acceleration programs to impact startups. We aim to create value for all involved stakeholders by the accelerated growth of carefully selected startups through a solid program and thriving network.


Truvalu.startups is a global business accelerator that brings startups with disruptive innovations to market in emerging countries with a special focus on the agri-food sector.

It runs a successful seven-month program (partly online) to accelerate selected companies to the level at which they become attractive for impact investors. Truvalu.startups has a strong global partner network and pool of business development managers and coaches through its shareholders: ICCO Cooperation and Woord en Daad.
